SRT offers up first 2013 Dodge Viper teaser

Early last year, Chrysler announced that it would be bringing the Viper back into production, with the brand's performance flagship once again taking its place at the front of the SRT lineup. The next generation Viper won't be unveiled until April at the New York Auto Show, and it looks like Dodge will be doing its best to tease us mercilessly until then with vague sketches of the car. The first has just been posted on the official SRT Facebook page, providing the very first look at the front end of the 2013 Viper.

Well, besides their recent ad blitz poking fun at iPhone users and lets not forget — they're amazing handsets that seem to be winning the world over — Samsung will begin offering custom engraving free to anyone who purchases a Galaxy Note. The only catch is the service will only be available until March 31st and you have to live in South Korea to take them up on their offer.

Looks like the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet will be joining the elite club of Android devices set to receive their Ice Cream Sandwich updates this year. More specifically, Lenovo mentioned today that Android 4.0 will arrive for the tablet Q2 of this year. The tablet is currently running on Android 3.1 which isn't so bad seeing how I've always felt 4.0 is only a slightly better version of Honeycomb.

You may have heard of the mythical Verizon shared data plan in which one pool of data (bandwidth) is made available to a number of devices, instead of blindly charging $59 per device (or whatever the amount is these days). If the pricing is reasonable, the idea is great for families, small businesses and power users who want one account for many devices. Although Verizon said that the plan would show up sometime in 2012, we still don't know when it will show up. Today's rumor indicated that Verizon has started training employees on the matter, which suggests that the shared plan would show up… hopefully soon.

Some Samsung-owning Norwegians are about to be very happy. A post today on Samsung Norway’s Facebook page revealed that the update to Android 4.0 should be hitting the Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy note by the end of the first quarter of 2012. Before we get too excited, Samsung still has plenty of time before they hit that deadline. We are just entering February, after all. While there may still be a few months of waiting, Norwegians should be among the first to receive an update to Ice Cream Sandwich.

The biggest differentiating factor between the tiers is the up-front cost of the device purchased alongside the new contract, though the lowest pricing option only includes unlimited calling within the T-Mobile UK network.

Just as expected, the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX has hit Verizon Wireless like clockwork, where this new smartphone from Motorola will sport a rather huge 3,300 mAh battery – and we are extremely interested in the battery life benchmarks. Despite having such a large capacity battery, it still manages to remain relatively slim at a wee bit under the 9mm mark. Boasting up to 21 hours of talk time as claimed (anyone wants to stay on the phone that long to dispute that fact?), this is by far and large superior to the 1,780 mAh battery that is said to be able to last for 12.5 hours of talk time.

. LG announced on Wednesday that it has sold more than 1 million Optimus LTE handsets. . Pew Research conducted a pre-holidayÂ surveyÂ among people age 16 and older between November 16th and December 21st, and two additional surveys of adults age 18 and older in January. The data found that during the holiday gift giving season, sales of tablets and eBook readers nearly doubled from 10% to 19%. In the same time frame, the number of Americans owning at least one of these devices jumped from 18% to 29%. More than 33% of those living in households earning more than $75,000 a year own a tablet, with almost a third of those with college educations or higher owning the device.

Sony has announced that its upcoming image sensors for smartphones and mobile devices will feature a new RGBW Coding. Usually photo pixels are encoded with RGB (Red, Green and Blue) but this W component stands for White, and is apparently used to store extra information about luminance. Sony is then able to use the extra information to improve the brightness of low-light photos for example – and the company claims that it can do so without adding a lot noise to the image.On another topic, Sony's new sensors also come with an HDR Movie function.

Imaging company Kodak has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. The news comes a little over a fortnight after the Wall Street Journal cites sources that said Kodak would file before the end of January. According to the filing, which was obtained by the folks over at the Verge, Kodak had $5.1 billion in assets and $6.75 billion in debt as of September 30th, 2011. The company today revealed that it has obtained a $950 million debtor-in-possession credit facility with an 18-month maturity from Citigroup and expects to complete restructuring by 2013. Kodak has also called in Lazard, FTI Consulting Inc.

For those living in Japan, it seems like you're in for a technological treat. Tokyo-based lighting tech startup, Net LED Technology, will be selling their NetLED system in Japan come February 20th, which for those who are unfamiliar is apparently the world's first cloud-based LED lighting system which can be controlled via your smartphone. Basically the user would have to install at least one WiFi enabled tube which can then be connected to up to three NetLED lights. The 40W lights apparently have a 40,000 hour lifespan, which is equivalent to about 4.56 years assuming you keep the lights on for 24 hours daily.
