Grace Digital Eco Terra Rugged Boombox

People would want to bring their portable music players just about anywhere. But with some devices, there can be a limit to where they can be used. Some, for example, would not be ideal to bring near any body of water or sandy area lest they get damaged without the necessary protection. If you still wish to bring them along on your next trip to the beach, then you might also want to bring along the Eco Terra Rugged Boombox from Grace Digital.
Grace Digital Eco Terra is a waterproof and rugged iPhone and mp3 player case that comes with its own set of speakers.

SIM2 has announced the world's first 3D LED Full HD DLP-based Projector for Video Interior Design System: the M.150. For those of you not bothered about the jargon - it is basically a projection system that blends entertainment with interior design. Instead of just having static images like posters and paintings on your walls, the M.150 can spice up how they look by projecting light and images on them. Be it personal photographs, art, mood lighting, or movies - you can turn that drab wall into anything you wish, depending on your mood or the occasion.

Doro PhoneEasy 740 smartphone hands-on at MWC 2012

Don't recognize the name. If so, it's probably because Doro is a completely new player in the smartphone industry, as it doesn't necessarily quench the appetite of power users. The vendor primarily focuses on providing the elderly with simple handsets, which in the past equated to offering nothing but feature phones. Doro's got a few new tricks up its sleeve which may be the most ridiculously easy transition from old-school to new-school yet. Their creation, with a title nearly as simple as the device itself, is called the PhoneEasy 740.

Nokia Drive 3 teased at MWC with commute alerts via live tiles (video)

When the folks at Nokia took us aside and asked if we'd like a preview of the latest features slated for Nokia Drive, we knew something good was in store. Our intuition wasn't wrong. The next version of Nokia's navigation software will focus on commutes - aiming to make the daily chore easier by learning driving habits, identifying regular trips and providing users with live tile updates that estimate journey times and traffic flow. Nokia Drive 3 will automatically query this data 30 minutes before an established commute is expected to begin, and will also provide drivers with suggested quicker routes to their destination.

HTC also said to be fighting for next Nexus phone

It was just the other day that it was reported that LG was fighting heavily for rights to make the next Nexus, and now we're hearing reports that HTC wants to step into the gauntlet and fight for it, as well. HTC's Jeff Gordon confirmed to Tech Radar that Google had not yet chosen a hardware partner for the next Nexus and that all manufacturers pretty much have their fingers crossed. While we can't be so sure about other OEMs, we at least know that HTC is trying to get back onto the Nexus Train after Samsung has dominated it the past couple of years.

Believe it or not, there are still some people on the single-core DROID 2 Global. The DROID 2 was a very solid phone, though it wasn’t (and still isn’t) without a few issues – that’s why Verizon has issued a 19.4 megabyte update today. Some highlights include a fix for the camera where camera settings would reset upon reboot, reduced out of memory errors, resolved device restarts while playing music and a lot more. You’ll definitely want to grab this one if you’ve been having any issues. Head to Settings > About Phone >  System Updates to get started.

NYC's WPIX resurrects Intellivision gaming segment for Morning News

Those of you out there over the age of about 26 who live in the New York metro area might remember a popular call-in segment on WPIX. During day time children's programming, like the classic Magic Garden, viewers were encouraged to dial in and play a simple Intellivision game by shouting "PIX" to fire at falling blobs. Well, the TV station is bringing it back courtesy of a console direct from creator Keith Robinson. Only now, instead of calling, participants will be brought into the studio live to to shout alongside the anchors. We're already trying to figure out how to get ourselves on the list.

Redesigned 2013 Volkswagen CC priced from $30,250

When is a Volkswagen not a Volkswagen. If by Volkswagen, you mean the "people's car" as it was initially intended, then the answer is: When it starts costing thirty to forty grand. But even with new pricing in place, the Volkswagen CC is still a far cheaper proposition to other German "four-door coupes" like the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, Audi A5 Sportback and A7 and the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. Whereas the MSRP on the outgoing model started at $28,514, the freshly updated 2013 model starts at $30,250. That, of course, is just the starting price for the base model with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.

The winner will receive $205,000 in prizes, including a $100,000 cash prize. First up we've got a transparent interactive 3D display which builds on technology from Cambridge University's HoloDesk project. Next is Holoflector, a "magic mirror" that overlays LCD projections onto your reflection. Both of these two projects rely heavily upon Kinect as more projects find the potential in the little sensor. Finally there's Illumishare, a pair of overhead projectors / cameras that share a desktop space with a colleague when you need to look at the same thing.

The Acer CloudMobile is the Taiwanese company's Android related gamble for this year. Acer has been doing smartphones for a few years now (yes, even Android devices), but there's a reason you probably didn't know that already. Let's just say that Acer's offerings haven't been very compelling in the past. Yet the company is sure hoping to change that with the CloudMobile. For starters, this is a high-end handset through and through. It's not midrange, and not entry-level, although it isn't the absolute fastest either, since we've already seen some quad-core smartphones announced, and the CloudMobile is ‘just' dual-core.

Sony to bring original content to Playstation Suite, not just ports

. If there is something Sony is strong at, it is their gaming platforms. This is something that didn't take off immediately on the Android platform, after the release PlayStation Suite. The selection of games is limited, and they are all Playstation 1 ports. But according to Sony Mobile's chief marketing officer Steve Walker, this is all about to change.

Sony is making some huge changes as we speak, now that it is in full charge of its mobile division. Great devices like the Sony Xperia U and Sony Xperia P have been announced at MWC.

ASUS outs lower-end Transformer Pad 300 tablet with 16GB of storage and 1280 x 800 display

Remember when we said ASUS was adding another tablet to its stable. Let's bump that number to an even two. ASUS just announced the Transformer Pad 300, a lower-end match to the new Infinity Series (and also made a quick appearance earlier this month). Hilariously (if rapidly aging gadgets can ever be funny), the 300 is, for all intents and purposes, the original Transformer Prime - until the most lustworthy tablet. So far as we can tell, the only differences are that it offers different color choices (blue, white and red), a slightly downgraded display and optional LTE.

New Ram ad joins Chevy in knocking Ford F-150

It's probably a toss-up as to what's worse about life at the top: the loneliness or the rocks that everyone throws at you. Chevrolet recently took aim at Ford with a humorous Super Bowl commercial that not only took the unusual step of calling Ford out by name, but made claims about the segment that Ford didn't find funny at all. Ram is next up to lob a light-duty boulder with a commercial that says if you take one of its trucks and make it less capable, then you end up with a Ford.

Apple warns Evi with App Store expulsion

Apple is not exactly well know for playing fair – and as a testament to that line of thought, a UK developer claimed that the Evi speech analysis app will be removed from App Store since it is as “confusingly similar” to Siri. What do you think of such a particular move. I am quite sure that it will not win Apple any new fans in the process with such a controlling nature, and it certainly stifles the creativity of developers such as this Cambridge company whose Evi app is more or less able to perform as well as Apple's very own Siri in terms of functionality, although it does have its fair share of shortcomings as well.
